I've been trying to download the RAD Studio Product Address without success. So far I've had failures after 0 bytes, 11MB, 17MB and 14MB! Is there a simple ftp server to grab these off rather than just a download button?
Alistair, please try again. We had a configuration issue on the CC servers that was causing performance problems that appear to have been resolved. I just downloaded the file fine from at home.
John, performance of CC serers is still terrible. When I try to show detailed page (from http://cc.codegear.com/coderage), almost all the time I got empty page. In a few times, when detail of CodeRage session is shown, I'm not able to download the session ZIP. Ive got always Server Connection Reset. Is it possible to get .torrent files, as suggested on forums elsewhere? Or more reliable download source server?
I'm having a really hard time getting these sessions. It's kinda funny that I couldn't get the delayed exceptions session due to all the exceptions being thrown. I know that right now you folks are kinda hobbled by using Windoze to serve up your dog food, but it does not look good for a development company to have this much trouble using their software to serve up web pages. I think last year, there was a simple web server offering either FTP or HTTP download from a URL. Not a complicated thing, but something that could be served up by Apache! Don't get me wrong. I love Delphi, and am very appreciative of the CodeRage conference and the sessions that provide so much educational content. I'll be patient, but sometimes the best solution is a simple one.
Anders, Please check the ZIP files. Some are still coming down as invalid. They download to the correct size, but when opened they report as an invalid zip file.
The zip file for the Software Archeology with Delphi session is one example.
Anders, Still having major issues. IE downloads simply end with an invalid (truncated) zip file. Firefox downloads at least indicate that the download aborted before completion.
I just tested the "Software Archeology for Delphi" and it works fine (when it gets downloaded)... There are some CodeCentral issues being investigated at this time. Hopefully they will get resolved quickly.
We've cached the CodeRage III replays on Akamai - so everyone should see vastly enhanced downloads of the replay zip files. Very sorry for the earlier problems as we were bringing up the replays as fast as Anders could post them and cache them!
Thanks for all your support. We really appreciate (even the complaints).
Raize Components 5 - Advanced Techniques (http://cc.codegear.com/item/26381) doesn't appear to work. Downloads an empty txt file.
ReplyDeleteNicholas, it's working just fine from my house. Please try again. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIs all sessions replay available now? The language column in the list is empty at the moment.

ReplyDeleteThere are many link I can't download and always encounter:
ReplyDeleteException of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.
An error has occured while processing the page.
Please try to refresh the page, or return to the home page.

John, it worked fine around the time you posted your message indeed, but I get "The connection with the server was reset" messages again now.

ReplyDeleteYup, same problems here.
ReplyDeleteTorrent files would be great. Or just put them up on Rapidshare:)
John,
ReplyDeleteOr at least support "RESUME"
I got to between 30 and 70% on a 37Mb file about 10 times now.
This is wasting bandwidth.

In case anyone wants my sessions faster than CC can provide them now, please drop me an email jpluimers at the better-office dot com site.

BTW: Thanks Anders for putting up the files so quickly ;-)
ReplyDeleteAll replays are up now, and performance *should* be back to normal. We'll keep monitoring CC.

ReplyDeleteI've downloaded 3 of them without problems now.
ReplyDeleteI am still seeing a blank page (server response CC2) for the CodeRage downloads. I am using FireFox 2.x, any clues?
ReplyDeleteFred et al, please pardon the outage while we work on fixing some issues we uncovered. Should be back soon.
ReplyDeleteThe '26417, Smarter Code with Databases and Data Aware Controls' talks about the code being available after the session.
ReplyDeleteCan this be placed online ? or Emailed ?
Thanks
Andrew
